Deadly Floods in Southern Europe

Nearly 9.5 inches of rain in 24 hours has hit Southern Europe breaking a 50-year record. The massive amount of rain has caused flash floods all around Europe. About 20,000 people have lost power because of the storms. The storm has caused some to die and go missing. One town received two months of rainfall in just 6 hours. A woman and her son have gone missing when the storm swept their mobile home away. In northern Italy, the floods left two people dead. A 68-year-old woman was taken by the floods and found 330 feet away. She was rushed to the hospital where she is recovering. A 75-year-old man was caught in the flood while trying to move his car. His body was found on a beach later in the day. There is chaos all around Europe with people going missing, dying, and getting hurt. Two regions of Europe have asked for a state of emergency to be declared. Many have evacuated to stay safe. There are more thunderstorms expected tomorrow.
