On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Los Angeles Clippers, with the Clippers having home court. The Clippers were led by new signee, Kawhi Leonard, to a 112-102 win over the Lakers, with Paul George out. Leonard had 30 points and shot 10-19, in addition, had five rebounds, six assists and two blocks in his Clippers debut. Another superstar had a good debut with his team. Anthony Davis scored 25 points and shot 8-21, but added 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. Both Lebron and Anthony struggled in the second half, both had a tough time dealing with the physicality of the Clippers defense. Surprisingly, neither of the two superstars was the Lakers’ leading scorer. Danny Green, whom the Lakers signed this off-season from the Toronto Raptors, is where Kawhi Leonard led the Raptors to an NBA championship the year before. Danny Green scored 28 points and shot 10-14 from the field and 7-9 from behind the arc while adding on 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. This was the first of many battles for the control of LA. It is expected that these two teams will likely face off in the Western Conference Finals, which has the potential to be one of the greatest series in playoffs history.
