The one year anniversary of the tragic Northern CA Camp Fire is coming up on November 8th. The Camp Fire was named after Camp Creek, where the fire had originated. The whole town of Paradise and parts of towns surrounding it were completely wiped out. The day of November 8th, 2018 was documented to be the day of the largest and deadliest wildfire in the U.S. Paradise, a small hometown, is located about an hour north of Sacramento. It was the town I lived in for 8 years until the summer before the fire. Most of my friends and neighbors have lost their houses and all their possessions. There were 85 fatalities, 1 missing person case, and 12 injuries. The fire took 17 days to be contained completely. Although it was a year ago, it is still affecting people today- families who drove through walls of flames to escape, and those who lost loved ones to the fire.
