Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness of the disease. About one in eight women born in America will get breast cancer at one point in their life and while cancer can’t be prevented, it’s important to be aware of health. Health is a necessary topic that needs to be discussed more in schools so students and teachers can become educated on ways individuals can get involved. As October comes to an end, make a difference! Spread the word about mammograms and screening tests and encourage families and individuals to get involved. As students, wear the symbolic pink ribbon and be a resource of support and kindness in the community.
