Two days ago (on Wednesday, October 23rd) our Advanced Women’s Choir, Chamber Choir, and Concert Choir competed in the annual Fresno State Invitational Choral Festival at Fresno State. Chamber and Concert Choir competed in the early evening against many other schools to show off their skills and try making it up in higher ranks for competition. Mr. Witt, the choir teacher, and many other spectators announced that they did an absolutely fantastic job and rocked the show. Fantastic job to those choirs!
Advanced Women’s Choir, which is the choir that I am currently a part of, was the command performance of the late evening; this means us and the 4 other choirs we competed against had made it to state last year. Those choirs were all from Clovis high schools. So we, being part of the winning choirs, competed once again to get up to the higher spots. We tried our absolute best in performing our 3 songs and ultimately at the end, got 2 Excellent and a Superior, receiving Excellent overall. All of Clovis’s choirs did beautifully excellent jobs at performing their songs as well. Fresno State’s Advanced Choirs (and others that played instruments) ended the competition with an astounding professional performance, leaving all of our jaws dropped in amazement.
Good job to all the choirs who competed at the Fresno State festival! It was a lot of fun. I already know that it’ll be a very interesting competition next year!
