A North Korean fisherman killed 16 of his crew members before fleeing to South Korea. Two men killed their captain in late October because he treated the members harshly. After killing the captain, the two men killed the rest of the crew one by one. The men dumped the bodies overboard. After killing the whole crew the men went back to the north when one of the men got arrested by local police. After this, they fled to the south in fear of the North Korean police. It took the South Korean Navy 2 days to seize the ship. South Korea usually gives asylum to defectors but they did not in this case because they were a threat to national security. South Korea treated them as criminals and returned them back to North Korea.  The men were returned to a small village in the demilitarized zone.
