In February of 2018, Sega, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Marza Animation Planet announced that they will be making a new Sonic: The Hedgehog movie. When the animation studio released the first teaser of the film, they received serious backlash from the public. The production team released/created a realistic version of Sonic, adding fur, new running shoes (which turn out to be the Puma Speed 500’s in Red), two separate eyes and a more human-like body. Most of the public was not impressed with how the character looked like. On May 2, 2019, the animation team then agreed with the public and worked on refining the features. Six days ago, Paramount revealed the new and improved look of Sonic. They changed the eye size, color, and teeth. They made the eyes appear larger, they enhanced the blue in his fur, and minimized the number of teeth so it would resemble how Sonic looked like in the video games.  This also caused the overall budget to be increased by $5 million. So, the budget for the film is now $95 million. Also, this made the official release to be delayed onto February 14, 2020. In total, this movie has been delayed three times. It was supposed to be released sometime in 2018, but due to some unfortunate circumstances, the movie is now being released on February 14, 2020. This also caused the overall budget to be increased by $5 million. So, the budget for the film is now $95 million.
