With the Christmas season approaching, companies and product owners are rapidly beginning to update their generic and everyday commercials to more spirited and holiday themes to best fit the month of December. Whether it be a simple Christmas tree lit in the back of an Allstate home insurance commercial or even just the scene of a Christmas morning gift unwrapping between a husband and wife, Christmas is in full celebration. However, who would’ve thought that such controversy would come out of what appears to be a complete innocent holiday commercial? At this point, most individuals know that the topic currently at hand right now is the Peloton exercise machinery company’s holiday edition. According to enraged radio and talk show hosts, as well as ordinary American citizens, the commercial apparently portrays a husband gifting or as some people see it “pushing” exercise onto his “already rail-thin” wife. The motive for the commercial, in the eyes of the Peloton Company, was to simply promote their exercise machinery through a Christmasy story of a woman vlogging her new exercise achievements. Sadly, the commercial, in the eyes of the public, was viewed as the husband expressing his irritations with his wife’s figure. Although many look at the commercial from this perspective, this was not the intention of the Peloton exercise machinery company.
