Cities across France are shut down after Macron, the President of France, made changes to the country’s pension system. Over 30 unions have launched worker strikes to shut down the country so Macron is forced to reconstruct plans for the pension system. Subways, schools, trains, and roads were closed across France. The protests turned violent after protesters burned cars and threw objects at police. Police are firing tear gas at the crowds to control the violent protests. Over 280,000 people took part in protests, not including some of the main cities in France and Lyon. The protests have affected flights in France causing 20% of them to be canceled.
