Actors Christian Bale and Matt Damon take on the roles of Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles on the big screen to show the world the true conflicts and inner workings of a legendary rivalry between two, huge, companies. Carroll Shelby, played by Matt Damon, had a relationship with the Ford Motor Company in the twentieth century. He himself was a racer at one point and in 1959 won the coveted 24 hours of Le Mans. A race consisting of two drivers racing for twenty-four hours. Ken Miles, played by the Dark Knight himself, was a racer. He was rough. He was gritty. He was real. Ford hired Shelby and him to beat the Ferrari company at the 24 hours of Le Mans. Miles knew pretty much everything one needed to know about how to operate a vehicle. He was a key part in developing the Ford that would end up defeating Ferrari in that race for 24 hours. Though he technically did not win the race due to corporate interference, they still managed to defeat the Italian vehicle company. Miles would end up passing away at the age of 47 doing what he loved. Driving. Shelby would pass away in 2012 due to heart ailment at the age of 89. There is no doubt that these two men most definitely left a big impact on the motor industry. You can see all of this and more by purchasing tickets to see Ford v Ferrari in theaters now.
