In the article “The Next Civil Rights Frontier is Digital” it states how Latino households are less likely to have internet access when compared to white households. Statistics show that only 53% of Latino households have a connection to the internet while 73% of white households have internet access. The plan was to provide low-cost materials for the families that can’t afford the computers or the internet in order to have all students be at the same level and to prevent them from feeling as if they are less than others. Unfortunately, this problem and solution haven’t been given enough attention. To say that this has nothing to do with white people is an ignorant statement due to Latinos being less privileged as well as a large majority of Latino parents being field workers, so yes in a white household the parents may work very hard but so do Latino parents and if not harder but without the same outcome in return.
