According to recent news updates, The Boy Scouts of America have officially filed for bankruptcy in response to some recent 300 lawsuits from past scouts who claim to have been sexually abused while in the organization. The possibility of bankruptcy has been an ongoing issue being discussed for the organization since December of 2018. While the organization filed a law firm for a possible chapter 11 filling, it is uncertain whether or not the law firm will be effective. With the recent victims coming forward, the organization has sent out an open letter to all victims and readers apologizing and ensuring that steps will be taken to end the issues at hand. With some cases in regards to the molestation of young scouts costing the organization nearly $20 million dollars, the liability for the company is large, to say the least. Steps are being taken, as said before, in attempts to contain the issues and eliminate further problems such as this from occurring again.
