Tik Tok Finally Stopped

The recent talks of the famous app called Tik Tok being banned by the U.S. government will take place soon on September 20, 2020 through the executive orders of the Trump Administration to restrict access to the app for national security purposes. By Sunday, September 20, access to the app on an app store will be prohibited and it will be illegal to host or transfer internet traffic associated with Tik Tok beginning on November 12, 2020. These actions have been done by the Trump Administration in order to stop China from collecting the personal data of U.S. citizens through the app. This move made by the Trump Administration reflects the tense relationship between the U.S. and its democracy and China’s communist party. Users of this app will soon have to face another death of an app that they once used to enjoy and participate in through making short videos for the entertainment of others, such as the recent death of Vine in 2016 which caused the shift in social media usage from the previous app to Tik Tok.
