On Monday, September 14th, Trump took a trip to visit the west coast as the fires continuously ravage California, Washington, and Oregon. Trump visited California and criticized the poor management of forests throughout the state and questioned the way California handles its fires. In attempts to help the situation and to help the future of the state, the President offered some suggestions as to how fires could be prevented from now on. Trump also pressed the idea of probing California’s governor as he didn’t want to “step on his toes”. As the fires continuously and ferociously burn, Trump rather than taking the easy way out and blaming it on climate change, offered many other valid points such as better forest management and not letting dry wood stay for long periods of time. To end things off, Trump proudly thanked the firefighters and first aid responders battling the devastating wildfires and approved 37 Stafford Act Declarations, including Fire Management Grants to support their brave work.
