Based on Dr. Anthony Fauci, an American physician and immunologist who has served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, the U.S. remains in a first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and could experience a second wave of cases equivalent to the 1918 flu pandemic that could start in the fall and last even after spring time. This issue could be instigated over various reasons, such as the flu season that is on its way and because of the many places that are slowly opening back up to the public such as schools across the country that could be open to more viruses spreading indoors at a fast rate due to the weather getting cooler. As of Friday morning, 23 states across the country including the Midwest have reported an increase in Covid-19 cases, 16 states have experienced a slow decrease, and 11 more states have seen a definite decline in cases as of Friday morning.
