In this segment called “This or That”, I will be discussing two topics that are generally opposites of one another. For both topics, I will give the pros and cons of each side in an unbiased manner to let you choose which side is best. In this week’s edition, we have summer vs. winter. Let’s get started!

First, let’s start with summer. Summer is a time of fun, excitement, and most importantly, a break from school. During the summer, you have so much time to do many fun activities such as go to the beach, carnivals, and hang out by the pool. Furthermore, the summertime is a great season to hang out with friends and family. On the opposing side, during the summer the heat can be unbearable to the point where you just want to stay inside in an air-conditioned building. Additionally, there is so much free time to the point where it might cause extreme boredom.

On the other hand is winter. In many cases, winter is labeled as the most wonderful time of the year. During winter you experience the wonderful holiday season, and you get a little break from school as well. This part may be subjective, but the cold weather is an amazing time when paired with a nice warm drink. In terms of cons for the winter season, it is the time of finals at school, and you’re in school for a majority of the time. To conclude, summer and winter both have their pros and cons, but what do you think is better?
