NBA Champions
If you haven’t heard in the headlines of the news and all over social media the Los Angeles Lakers have won their 17th NBA championship. If you didn’t hear, the NBA agreed with players to let them finish their season in a bubble. The bubble was located in Disney World and they were set to resume their schedule on July 30th. The Lakers were in the bubble for almost three months. Most players were separated from their families for most of the time unless they were in the playoffs. After each round in the playoffs a player was allowed to bring a family member inside the bubble.
The Lakers’ path to the championship was very difficult and they were doubted by everyone saying they weren’t good enough to win. The Lakers were led by their two keys players Lebron James and Anthony Davis. In the first round the Lakers played the Portland Trailblazers. The Trailblazers started the series off hot winning game 1 but the Lakers came back and won the series 4-1. Then comes round 2 the Lakers play the Houston Rockets, a very talented team who takes game 1 of the series but the Lakers fight back and win the series 4-1. Round 3 Lakers played the Denver Nuggets the series went the same way the Lakers won a game and so did the Nuggets then the Lakers won the series 4-1. Finally the NBA finals came around and they played the Miami Heat, a very talented team. The series started off well for the Lakers won 2 games right away then the Heat came back to win two games unexpectedly but that wasn’t enough to stop the Lakers. They ended up winning the championship 4-2. The whole NBA bubble was started off to express their beliefs of racial inequality and all the wrong doing that is going on in America and they proved a message towards everyone.
