After many years of relying on harmful plastic in their products and packaging, toy companies such as Uno and Lego are planning to cut back on their use of plastic for the sake of climate change. As the COVID-19 pandemic has caused more parents to endure distance employment for safety precautions, the demand for toys has increased as a result. The demand will increase even more during the Christmas season. The production and discard of plastic has resulted in many devastating effects to our planet, such as greenhouse gas emissions that affect the earth’s atmosphere. Many toy companies are finding more reasons to change the composition of their products and packaging in order to benefit eco-friendly consumers and help eliminate climate change. Toy companies like Uno and Lego are currently trying new methods of production such as using recyclable paper for its packaging rather than single-use plastic to reduce the amount of plastic waste that damages our oceans and our atmosphere.
