As California is enduring the rise of COVID-19 cases, California officials are considering a curfew to minimize its spread. Although Gov. Gavin Newsom is unclear whether that will be the ultimate idea to execute to minimize the spread of COVID-19, it is just one of the ideas being looked at as they figure out if the curfew should be statewide or just in a few areas with the largest populations. According to County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Los Angeles County officials believe that a curfew there would be the best idea so that businesses can stay open and essential activities can be limited. Information about the recent COVID-19 cases presented by the county’s health director shows that young people are getting more of the cases while the elderly are experiencing the worst of its effects. There have been other states that have implemented recent curfews to keep their citizens safe from the spread of COVID-19, such as Massachusetts, New York City, and Virginia.
