Within recent years/months, many students have received pink slips and drivers licenses. When becoming a new driver there are many different things someone must remember in order to be an efficient and successful driver. One of these very important things is how to get gas without the help of a parent or guardian. Flying solo to the gas station can seem very daunting at first, but after a little bit of practice it’s a breeze. A few tips for getting gas are: Remember to open your gas tank before doing anything else because it makes the whole process play out smoother. Open the small metal door, twist/pull off the cap, then set the cap aside on something stable; know what kind of gas you’re getting before you get to the gas station (ask a parent before you leave); know your payment method and how your gas station accepts chosen form of payment (some gas stations take cash inside only). Another important thing to remember is to not top off your gas! If it leaks or overfills you could cause a fire and/or hazards. Plus, you shouldn’t keep “filling” something that’s already full. Please be safe when driving and do your best to remember to be a good human. Be mindful, always have a plan, and have a great day Miners!
