On Tuesday December 8th 2020, The United Kingdom made history by being the first country to distribute the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to its citizens. The first person to receive the vaccine was a 90 year old woman named Margret Keenan who received the first dose around 6:30am UK time.

The Pfizer vaccine reported a 95% success rate. The vaccine requires two doses to be taken four week apart. The United States is currently in the process of manufacturing the vaccine, and hopes to have 20 million doses available by the end of this year. Vaccinations will be given in a specific order depending on how important it is for you to receive the vaccine. For example, first responders and teachers will be among the first to get vaccinated. Health experts are confident that the vaccine will be widespread to the American public by the summer of 2021.
