A Massachusetts state lawmaker asked for the public’s help to select an official state dinosaur. The state Representative Jack Lewis tweeted that he plans on filing the legislation on January 15, as he believes that this is a good way for children to learn about the legislative process. Residents are asked to pick from two dinosaur species discovered in Massachusetts, the Podokesaurus holyokesis and the Anchisaurus polyzelus. Apparently twelve states already have their state dinosaurs. If you are curious, California’s state dinosaur is the Augustynolophus, which was announced in 2017.
