Online Survivor

Recently I have discovered a new activity on Instagram that is one of the most stressful, yet enjoyable, things I’ve done during the entire quarantine. In the game, 20 people are chosen out of several applications and put into two different group chats (also known as tribes), and forced to compete in daily challenges to crown a winner. Depending on which team loses the challenge that day they will go to the tribal council and vote one person out of the game. During the first couple of weeks there may be tribe swaps and twists to make things a little bit more difficult for some, but save others. Once 8 people have been voted out the 12 remaining players unite into one tribe, and now only 1 person can win immunity. The theme of the game is “Outwit, Outplay, Outlast” and there are several different strategies you can use to get to the end – such as forming strong alliances, making big moves, or manipulating others.

In regards to my game, I enjoy using a mix of all three strategies. I compliment and talk to everyone in the game, form several alliances, and manipulate everyone I can to keep me in the game. As of the time this article is being created I am at the final 7 waiting for the next challenge and tribal council.

Overall this game is very enjoyable, but you must have a large amount of free time during your day to create bonds and participate in team challenges. I would recommend playing this game during a break. From this game, I have become more social with strangers and enjoy starting conversations with others,
