Why is it that colleges are cancelling their sports seasons? Is it because of Covid or something else? It turns out that funding is just not there to support them. With the lack of a football season for most schools, the money they make from the games is just not there to support other sports like water polo, tennis, and track. For some schools it was too much to handle as they had to cancel some sports forever such as Monmouth college and Salem College’s men’s water polo teams. This leads to the question, Will we see a longer list of cancelled sports in the coming years?
