If you split me down the center,
which side would I flock to?
Which parts of myself
would I choose?
Surely it is an impossible question
to ask who I would be
with only one piece.
Would I be surprised
by the answer?
Because choosing that one piece
would define me
in ways that I could not simply undo.
It would be a label attached to my name
before others even had the chance to.
Picking a side
would be my death,
but I cannot live betwixt and between
forever.
