In Madagascar, scientists have discovered the smallest known reptile in the world, a chameleon subspecies that is as tiny as a seed. Two of these miniature reptiles were discovered by an expedition team in Madagascar. These adorable reptiles are so small, the biggest one that they found was less than an inch long. The male Brookesia nana, otherwise known as the nano-chameleon, measures at 13.5mm. The female nano-chameleon measures at about 22mm. These were the only specimens found, and due to deforestation, the scientists believe that these new chameleons might be threatened by extinction.
