Spring Training

The MLB season is quickly approaching and soon fans will be tuning in to watch their favorite teams play the game of baseball. While it is unclear how the pandemic will affect the 2021 season, Spring Training is set to take place at its normal time. Major League Baseball recently announced that the first games will be played on February 28th. It will be interesting to see how the Dodgers will play this year as many questions are moving forward about the infield. The Dodgers have recently lost Enrique (Kike) Hernandez, a fan favorite who often filled in at second base. Hernandez signed a two-year contract with the Boston Red Sox. The veteran third baseman Justin Turner is also rumored to be leaving Los Angeles. Despite losses in the infield, the Dodgers starting rotation was recently strengthened with the addition of Trevor Bauer, a former Cincinnati Reds pitcher who won the National League Cy Young award during the 2020 season. An interesting fact about Bauer is that he started his professional career in Visalia, starting three games during the 2011 season for the Rawhide. The Dodgers are said to have the best current rotation in the league with Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, and Trevor Bauer claiming the top three spots in the rotation. I cannot wait for the season to start.
