19 year old Kenneka Jenkins was found dead inside a freezer of the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare hotel in Rosemont, Illinois on September 9th, 2017.

While attending a party with some of her friends at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare hotel people noticed Jenkins wasn’t acting like her normal self. Several witnesses reported seeing her drink but did not see her partake of any drugs. Witnesses also said that she would dance a little, but then suddenly seemed sad and went to sit down.

After some of her friends noticed she was missing they contacted Jenkins mother to assist in the search for her. Hotel management told everyone that they could not reveal the video footage until Jenkins was reported missing to the police. After her family members characterizing the police’s response for lacking urgency, finally the footage was released.

The footage showed Jenkins wandering the hotel halls and kitchen area disoriented and all by herself. There is no video footage of her actually walking into the freezer, but soon after she did Jenkins died from hypothermia along with a toxicology report that found alcohol and an epilepsy medication in her system.

The Cook County medical examiner concluded her death was an accident.
