This last Saturday, at around 4pm, authorities received a call that a 32 year old man by the name of Arnold Martin had opened fire. When police arrived on the scene, according to ABC30.com, they saw Arnold driving away from the scene where his own father, Abel Martin, lay motionless on the ground. After a long police chase past Three Rivers, police were able to trap Arnold at the Horse Creek Recreation Area, leaving him nowhere to drive. Unfortunately, before police were able to detain the man, he turned the gun to himself and died immediately from the self-inflicted injury.

While authorities are still in the process of interviewing family members to try and get a sense of what happened, they were able to come up with the vague conclusion that a quarrel had arisen between Arnold and his father, which ended with a very fatal outcome. Tulare County Cpt. Joe Torres made this statement to ABC30: “To hear that a family disturbance leads to the death of another family member, it is horrific and the family is going through a lot of pain and a lot of trauma at this point.”
