About 4 million people have been out of work for almost 7 months. In January reports showed about 166 thousand jobs were added. This brought the unemployment rate down 0.1% from 6.3% to 6.2%. Economists estimated in February 210 thousand jobs would be added but that was beaten by 379 thousand jobs being added. The unemployment rate is still higher than usual because not everyone is going back to work for many reasons. Since the pandemic has started around 60% of jobs in the U.S. were lost. We are going the right way with more jobs being added and the unemployment rate going down.
