Visalia Unified Votes to Bring Back Grades

It has now reached a little over a year since schools have shut down due to COVID-19. Tulare County’s case rates have finally dropped to the number needed to return back to school. They have reached the red tier, which means it is now safe to return to school with precautionary measures taken. School will reopen for 7-12 graders on Thursday, March 25th. There will be a requirement for face coverings (masks) and social distancing (6 feet apart).

There will be a three week period placed for the district to reopen under its hybrid model and “lock-in its reopening status”. If this period is missed then the district will have to shut down campuses again and wait for the County to return to the red tier.
