In a 7-Eleven store in Bangkok, Thailand, shoppers received a surprise when a giant Asian monitor lizard walked in and climbed the store shelves. A viral clip shows the giant lizard scaling the shelves and knocking over items as he crawls atop the shelves. A store employee called the local police who brought in reptile handlers to move the Godzilla-esque reptile outside again. Although it’s unclear what the monitor was looking for, it could have been searching for food due to the recent dry months of weather that contrast it’s preferred humid climate. The Asian water monitor lizard is the world’s second largest lizard, next to the Komodo dragon. Thankfully, these lizards are no threat to humans and usually eat eggs, smaller animals, or scavenge for food.
