Epic games, a popular video game developer is now facing the tech giant, Apple at trial on Monday. This trial that is going to take place on Monday can alter Apple business model and the course of antitrust law. The reason Epic games are suing Apple is because Apple kicked the popular game “Fortnite” off of their app store for bypassing the payment processing system. Epic games says that the payment processing system is a violation of the antitrust law that forbids a product or service to the sale of another. This all started in August 2020 when Epic games launched Fortnite on the app store and then Apple decided to remove Fortnite from the app store causing Epic Games to sue Apple for abusing its power.
