On Tuesday, a man was killed in a suspected shark attack on a popular beach on the coast of Australia’s New South Wales state. Emergency services were called to the beach after reports of a shark attack on Tuncurry Beach. He was attacked late in the morning, according to a police statement. The man, who was believed to be in his 50s, was attacked while surfing and suffered a deathly injury to his upper right thigh. “Despite the best efforts of paramedics and bystanders at the scene, the man could not be resuscitated,” said the NSW Ambulance. Forster beaches have been closed and the local police are working with government authorities to identify the species of the shark.
