Scarlett Johansson's agent blasts Disney amid 'Black Widow' dispute

Almost a month ago one of the original Avengers finally had her movie released in theaters and available to stream on Disney+ on July 9th, both on the same day. With fans finally getting excited to watch it, Scarlett Johannson herself who plays the title character, Black Widow, wasn’t too thrilled with how it was released and sued Disney. Johannson claimed that Disney breached her contract by allowing people to stream and purchase the movie on Disney+, while also it being released in theaters the same day. As well as her lawsuit stating that her payment is linked with the box office, meaning that the movie needs to perform well in the box office, by also releasing it on their streaming service it can cause a lower fee than they thought. While doing an interview with Vanity Fair, Elizabeth Olsen, who also happens to be a co-star alongside Johannson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe playing Wanda Maxioff/Scarlet Witch, showed support to her former co-star. Olsen stated in the interview that she was “so tough” and “when I read [about the legal action] I was like, ‘good for you Scarlett’’”. In addition, Olsen said, “when it comes to actors and their earnings, I mean, that’s just, that’s just all contracts. So it’s either in the contract or it’s not.”
