This year El Diamante has a new school counselor, Deshonda Williams. Mrs. Williams received her Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies, M.A, and PPS in Student Counseling from Fresno Pacific University. Being a school counselor has always been something she has wanted to do ever since she had an amazing school counselor her senior year. Mrs. Williams has been involved in some form of education for twenty years with a pause in between. Her journey into the education business started at Fresno Unified as an instructional assistant. Later she went to Clovis Unified as a substitute teacher. Mrs. Williams decided to go back to school after being married and having kids. Now she works here at El Diamante as a school counselor. What she likes about working here, so far, are the students and the staff. When she’s not working, Mrs. Williams likes to watch sports, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy nature. Mrs. Williams is married and has 4 children. She has 3 boys, who are all grown and out of the house, and one girl, who is the youngest and still at home. Finally, Mrs. Williams would like to let the students and staff at El Diamante know that, “…I am excited about being a part of this school! I am a fun and outgoing person and love what I do! My door is always open. Please stop by and say hi!”.
