A passionate and determined math teacher has joined our team at El Diamante, which has already improved the school spirit on campus. In her short time here Ms.Pardo-Figueroa has already developed many strong relationships with her students and the staff, making herself known as an approachable and kind person.

Ms.Pardo-Figueroa, who previously worked as a teacher in the Bay Area, decided after reading an article about how Visalia was one of the oldest school districts that she wanted to check it out. She interviewed at some jobs for teaching mathematics, which is her specialty, before she was accepted to work at El Diamante. She has settled for dry sunny days instead of her usual cool ocean breeze in hopes of being able to better herself as a teacher.

At her previous job, Ms.Pardo-Figueroa was in charge of teaching math to the “newcomers”. The “newcomers” are students who have just crossed the border or came from different language speaking countries. It was difficult for her to be able to teach the same math to students who did not speak the same language. But as strong-willed and earnest as Ms.Pardo-Figueroa is, she was able to figure out how to help her students in every way possible and overcome the struggles that they were all facing. Her job helped her unite students through the language barrier that faced them and now she has come to unite El Diamante.

Not only is Ms.Pardo Figueroa always trying to improve herself through her job but she also tries to improve her cooking abilities at home! As curious as Ms.Pardo-Figueroa is, she has developed a quirk of experimenting with different organic recipes. She also teaches her lovely dog, Sash, how to speak. Ms.Pardo-Figueroa devotes herself to bettering her life and becoming involved with the people around her, so next time you see her make sure to say hi!
