My Junior Year

This past month I started my junior year. I knew to expect that it was going to be a lot of work, and mentally draining, but also filled with excitement because I now have only 1 year of high school left until college when I get to go off on my own.

As far as now I am just about 3 weeks in, the homework is not the worst but it’s very much overflowing with my mind and time. One thing I’ve learned is that you can not slack behind at all, you have to stay on your homework every day and make sure you get all of your assignments done because it can be so easy to fail, all it takes is 1 missing assignment.

My mental health is not the best and some teachers have made me very much aware that it will not be getting any easier. “ If you don’t cry at LEAST once a month during junior year, something ain’t right” and I’m starting to understand their point. It’s all of the homework everyday, the practice everyday for 2 hours after school and having no time for homework. I am a cheerleader and with that being said it is my job to make sure that I am passing all of my classes to maintain being on the team, even though it’s going to be hard, it has to be something I’m going to have to keep up with.

The reason for my excitement for junior year is going through the realization that I am not a kid anymore, I’m starting to grow up and with that comes responsibilities which is why I’m going to stay on doing what I have to. I also get to learn and experience new things as time goes on.

So far, so good. I’m still getting used to it but as the time goes on there is more to come, but whatever that will be I know that all of us will do just fine.
