Lady Bird Movie Review

As a teenager I have never seen a movie that properly describes the life of an adolescent accurately. Movies treat high school students as if they are all spoiled brats that have nothing else to worry about other than boy troubles and getting into a good college, but in reality it is not like that at all and it is astonishing to see how adults paint the picture of our society. Luckily, as of recently, I have found a movie that correctly represents the life of our youth.

This movie is called Lady Bird, it is a movie centered around the life of a 17 year- old girl that refers to herself as Lady Bird. In this film, Lady Bird is in her last year of high school and she has to figure out what she wants to do with herself after high school. In this story we meet the several friends and boyfriends that Lady Bird has to go through to officially find her real self. The movie tackles societal issues such as homophobia, depression, loss, and many more.

The thing I loved most about this movie was the fact that it not only showed Lady Bird and how she presents herself at school, but it also showed the difference of how she is at home as well. She is an extremely explosive character but we also get to see the reason why and how she can also be a loyal and forgiving person. I can truly say I have never found a cinematic character that I relate to more than Lady Bird. 100% I would recommend this movie to anyone that likes coming-of-age dramas with a comedic twist.
