Erase

I am you, you are me, we are we, no alike, no different. So why continue to trouble the progress of the population? Beauty Standards, Differences in appearances, Best fit, Best style, best of the best… Schools have a higher impact than we had thought, kids having their own opinion on everything but in the end, get shut down with “You’re so childish, grow up.” When we grow into teenagers it isn’t any better, the more thoughts we have on others’ opinions on us, hoping for the best trying new things but in the end “Why do you act like that? You’re so weird” I’m sorry wasn’t I supposed to act like myself when I’m with people I trust or trusted.

Time passes by as we begin to look forward to becoming adults, but it progresses to get even worse. The more expectations, the more stress, the more judgment we get…”Why don’t you act your age?” Even when we are adults, we have our childish sides especially with the little ones because it brightens up their spirits. Where did this all go? Where did it come from? How was this society built up from this? A story in which we wish could just erase.

[8;01 am]

{Blue}; I woke up in distress as I heard thunder rumble in the skies and strikes which sounded like lightning. I began to look out the window as it seemed to be a storm coming from the west. I was only 10 years of age when this had all begun.

{Marian}; “Blue! Come downstairs we have to go!” My mother had yelled my name as it echoed throughout the halls of this house, the house in which held so many memories…ones I never thought I would have left.

{Su bin}; My brother threw the door wide open as it hit the wall making a loud banging sound, “Come on we have to go” He came into my room grabbing my arm taking me downstairs where I saw the fears of my parents filled their eyes. I knew this was more serious than I had thought, my heart started to beat loudly as I began to think about what I have done to cause this.

{Nat}; My father grabbed the bags tossing them onto the trunk of the truck then helped everyone get in but stopped as he was the last to get in, “Hold on let me get something.”

{Marian}; “Where are you going?! There is no time!” My father had run back inside as the wind began to blow heavily, dirt flying around the car covering the view of the house. I heard an unbuckle come from next to me as my brother got off chasing after father. I began to panic as tears began to fill my eyes as well as my mother’s.

It was too late, we couldn’t make it… a loud crash came from the house and my mother closed all doors of the trunk then moved to the back seat hugging me tightly. She was trembling in fear and I heard her whimpers as tears fell down her cheeks, she repeated to me as I remembered.

{Marian}; “Everything will be alright, you’re going to be okay” She kissed my head and hugged me again, the storm began to hit the whole valley as the dust-covered the view from the outside and the truck began to tumble over as glass began to shatter.

Silence fell, everything was quiet as the storm began to settle down. It took hours to finally stop but as I opened my eyes slowly my mother was still, I looked up and her eyes were closed as if she was asleep.

{Blue}; “Momma, wake up it’s over” I smiled trying to wake her up but she still was asleep, I looked down at my hands as red paint covered them, “Where did paint come from?” I looked back up at her then pushed her body a bit off of me as I noticed it was coming from her. “Momma?” My voice cracked, beginning to become weak, “no no no no, momma please wake up!” I hold her arm and put my head on her chest, my eyes filling with tears and my mind becoming unsteady, “Please don’t go.”
I laid there with her as I waited…waited…and waited. No one was coming for us, I got up and out of the truck then saw the house…gone, the storm took it with the wind and nobody was in sight. I was alone, this can’t be it, this can’t be the end….right?
