Life is a Soundtrack

It’s beautiful, it’s energizing, it’s serene, it’s triumphant, it’s amusing, it’s mesmerizing, it’s repetitive, it can bring tears to your eyes. What is this immaculate moving force of human nature you ask? It’s music. Music has been around since the beginning of time. It is in our human nature to naturally react to the music we hear both emotionally and physically. Music surrounds us from movies, to video games, to sporting events, to vehicles, to school, to religion, to electronics, to novels, to magazines, to weddings. What makes a movie more memorable; a good soundtrack. What makes a sporting event more energetic; music. What builds you up when you feel that the world around you is crashing down; music. You see, music has a huge toll on how we do things. Some of the biggest days of our lives involve a certain sound that makes us feel a certain way. Music can unlock emotions that are hard to express without it. There is a track for everything we do in our everyday lives. Everyone around school listens to music in a certain form. You will always see the students around school with airpods in their ears, or the kids who listen to the music that ASB plays at lunch, or even jam out to some classical music during tests to get the brain flow going. Every single student has a certain genre of music they listen to. Some people inherit their love of music from their families or friends while others may discover their own love for a new sound. Music helps the world move forward with their day. Some things might not have been reached or accomplished in life if a certain melody didn’t play a part in the process. Music has the competence to speak a message. There is a story behind every lyric. Just like books or novels, music has the power to paint a picture and tell a story. Music is what keeps us going. Music makes the whole world feel both more cultured and coherent. Life is a soundtrack and it is up to us to push play.
