CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST ALBUM REVIEW

On June 25 2021 popular rapper and comedian Tyler The Creator, released his 8th album titled Call Me If You Get Lost. This project has a lot going on in it from amazing production and features. It was not surprising that Tyler would decide to drop an album this year following his trend of releasing a project every two years. Examples of this is his album “Wolf” was released in 2013 and following that his album “Cherry Bomb” was released in 2015 and then his album “Flower Boy” following behind being released in 2017. Tyler had released his first ever album titled “Bastard” in 2009 and after that continued onto finishing the Wolf trilogy in which Bastard, Goblin, and Wolf are all a part of that trilogy. Call me if you get lost has a whole different aspect of Tyler but also brings back some of his vibe from his award winning album “IGOR”. The vibe of this album is very different from albums like Goblin in which Goblin was a darker themed album and while Call me if you get lost is a more lighter themed very joyful album. Tyler showed a lot of potential in this recent album and even had great features.,

Things I found enjoyable about this album are the features and the whole mood and theme of the album. It’s a very upgoing album and is just what describes a good listening feeling.  Tyler had really shown his true heart on this album and it really shows how much of a good artist he really is. Nobody really knew much about this album releasing but when it did we were most definitely not disappointed. I enjoyed the mixture of artists on this album ranging from Youngboy and Lil Wayne to Lil Uzi Vert and Pharrell Williams. Some tracks that stood out to me are Wusyaname, Corso, Lemonhead, RUNITUP, and Juggernaut. The tracklist in general is super good and I feel like this has got to be one of the best albums this year because of the theme and vibe Tyler was going for.

Like every album Tyler has released he always has a different theme of the album. For example Tyler’s album “Wolf” has his character along with different characters like Sam Wolf, and Salem. In the album he even talks about his bicycle named “Slater”. Another example of these characters appears in his album “IGOR” which obviously has the character or Tyler’s alter ego named IGOR, and in which that project is about dealing with heartbreak. In Call me if you get lost Tyler doesn’t really have a character but a specific era of himself with the nice clothes and the suitcases that represent the album. These suitcases are shown in his live performances and they are like a specific prop to Call me if you get lost.

In my opinion I would give this album a 9/10. As a huge Tyler the Creator fan this album does not disappoint me and the production is well done. Tylers production has always been great and I think Tyler has combined his IGOR ways and his new rapping ways into this album and that’s what makes it enjoyable. This album is very upgoing and shows how far Tyler has come as an artist even through his struggles. This album is very special and I think it could even be the best album released in 2021 tied with Donda. Tyler did fantastic on this project and I can’t wait to see what he does next.
