Chocolate Chip Scones - Brown Eyed Baker

Makes: About 12 Scones

Ingredients needed:

  • 3 ½ cup of flour
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup of butter (cut up and put in the freezer)
  • ⅔ cup of half and half
  • 2 tsp of almond extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 6 oz of chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Put the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and butter in the food processor and pulse until the butter is in the size of peas
  3. Combine the half and half, egg, and almond extract in a separate bowl and stir to combine
  4. Add the ingredients that were in the food processor to the wet ingredients and mix to combine
  5. Add the chocolate chips
  6. Combine until the mixture is a dough like texture
  7. Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out to about a 1 inch thickness
  8. Cut the dough with a triangle cookie cutter
  9. Place the scones on a greased baking sheet
  10. Brush the scones with half and half and sprinkle with sugar
  11. Bake for 15 minutes or until barley golden
  12. Let the scones cool
  13. Enjoy!
