For many years, Teen Wolf fans have been begging MTV and producers for some sort of sequel to the highly loved show. Many have said that the season 6 finale that aired on September 24, 2017 made them feel as though more was supposed to happen. So, for the next couple of years, fans would fill comment sections, email MTV or do anything to gain attention of getting a new season of their favorite show.
Fans would ask the cast if they would go back to playing the beloved characters, which they’d reply with a yes. It was now up to MTV to renew the show. The actor Tyler Posey, who plays the main character Scott McCall and the producer Jeff Davis had been posting throwback photos of each season in honor of the anniversary of the final season being finished. Fans had come up with theories that they were building up an announcement of something big for the show and they were correct. On September 24, 2021 Jeff Davis announced on all social media that there was going to be a movie with the same cast and perhaps some new members. Fans were ecstatic, posting everywhere about the movie and how even though they failed their mission of a season 7, they had still gained something out of it. Seems like their mission was a success to me!
