ASTROWORLD ALBUM REVIEW

On August 3 2018, famous rapper Travis Scott released his very popular album titled ¨Astroworld¨.

This album was long awaited and followed up his 2016 album, Birds in the trap sing Mcknight. This is the 3rd studio album by this rapper and is a very hype themed album. This album is literally a rollercoaster of songs, beats, and production. This album was very anticipated and was really well done.

This album is a very good themed album with good production and vibes coming from it. The album is themed off of a literal amusement park and just a theme park with roller coasters and rides and other things like that. This album gives a good vibe to it and that shock of being on a rollercoaster of a project. This project has very good production and the list of features goes on from Young Thug to Drake to even Swae Lee. I feel like Travis had done what he always has done with his albums and put a spin on it. He made a similar album like his 2015 and 2016 projects but added a theme to it like a theme park theme to it. That’s what I really enjoy while listening to this album is that vibe you get from even the first tracks on the album.

Some standouts tracks from this album that really showed what this album had to offer are Stargazing, Carousel, No Bystanders, Astrothunder, Coffee bean, 5% tint, Skeletons, and one of his most popular songs of all time, Sicko Mode. These songs really show what Astroworld has to offer as an album and as one of the best projects released in 2018. Travis got a lot of good features and those features really made the album more in depth giving that rage party theme a reality. This album is perfect for parties, concerts, and any other public events or just even hanging out with friends.

Some mixed feelings I have about this album is the amount of songs I don’t like. There are some tracks I don’t even bother with and could care less for and I feel like these tracks could have potential to be something they weren’t and I feel like that brings the album down a rating for me and doesn’t compare to Travis Scott’s debut album, Rodeo. I feel like this album had more potential that what was shown at the first listen of it. The project may grow on me it just really depends on the circumstances because this album is definitely a certain time of album and is better when you’re feeling happy and ready to party but only a certain amount of tracks really give off a different type of feel but that’s what I like about Astroworld, the way it keeps the same theme of that party type feel and that amusement park type of album which not much albums really do nowadays and that what makes it special.

Overall I would give Astroworld a strong 8/10. There are highs and lows of this album but more highs than lows which gives it more credit. The theme of this album carries it to the ranking I give it only because not many albums do this type of theme park, amusement fest of a project. This album definitely is very special and In my opinion should have won the grammy of best 2018 album released. The Album deserves its rating and is the absolute perfect album for any parties or just fun moments in your life which really stands out to me. It’s a very well done album.
