Cate Shorland, director of Marvel’s Black Widow revealed to Empire during a new issue that Kevin Feige, who is President of Marvel, fought to keep a certain scene in the film. The scene was all four members of the family sitting down at the table (as you can see in the picture), where they all reflected on their assigned roles and their strained relationship. Shoralnd stated “He doesn’t give you many directives, he’s very free”. Also adding on “But that was a scene he really felt needed to be in the film, and Scarlett and I kept fighting him on it, saying ‘How will this ever work?’ But it became a very alive thing. You’ve got this bunch of people shipwrecked together, who are still desperately trying to cling onto the roles that they know. That’s all they have. And it’s beautiful for me.”
