The air quality in Visalia has been very bad lately and not very safe for our health. On Monday October 11th the AQI was 500 during the evening, and there was a thick dust in the air. AQI of 500 is categorized as Hazardous, and it was hard to see outside or breath. There were also 25 mph winds occurring throughout the morning and afternoon, and that’s what mostly caused the dust storm and air quality. The winds were so strong they were knocking things down and all the trees on campus were shaking dramatically. In addition to all of this, many sports practices such as football, waterpolo, tennis and any outdoor sports were cancelled. Overall the weather was very interesting this past week in Visalia, and it shocked many people.
