WarioWare has always been a series that’s never had a solid formula throughout. The only rules it follows is that it’s a series of 6 second minigames (titled microgames) back to back to back as they progressively get both faster and more difficult. The way these are played has always changed from it being buttons, motion, camera, tilt and this time it’s unique characters. There comes out to about 15 unique characters that are unlockable scattered throughout the game’s story mode…. with maybe a few surprises along the way. While it would take forever to explain how all the characters play considering they each can play and beat all 200 microgames although at varying levels of effectiveness, I can assure you they all play completely different from one another and you’re near certain to develop favorites among the group.
Well the game’s quite simple and that’s already enough to describe the gist of it, but there still remains some aspects of the game that are completely unique to multiplayer. Like every other mode these all primarily consist of playing microgames but this time there are many twists and turns to why or how. In one you may play simultaneously and play to see who wins the most first. In another you may speed through a microgame fast as you can to avoid being blown up by your friends; and in one you find yourself playing air hockey to see who gets a chance to play the future microgame with the winner and losers shaking, breaking, or covering the players actions as disturbances. It’s all these experiences and more that make this a fully wrapped package of a game and one that’s perfect for nearly anyone to pick up and play with it’s simple one button and stick controls. I encourage nearly any fan of competitive couch co-op to immediately pick up and play this game with their friends and family as it makes for many unforgettable memories and a generally enjoyable experience.
