If you have ever sat down and watched the thirty-six minutes that are the entirety of the show Bananya then you will know that each of the thirteen; two minute long episodes has absolutely no plot and was only made to sell merchandise. The show follows a group of animated cats that are in bananas that originated in space. They run around a house causing serious damage to the homeowner and causing what can only be described as thousands of dollars in property destruction. Not only that but shows like Bananya and others we have seen in the past like Hello Kitty have no real plot and are just made to look aesthetically pleasing so that big corporations can make money on easily distracted children. It doesn’t provide any learning advantages for your child. For example, Elmo provides the children with the alphabet and simple math. Anyone who watches the show and honestly says they enjoy it is most likely just saying that to convince themself into spending twenty dollars on a pair of socks. Relating to this, Bananya provides many products to the economy causing people to spend their well-earned money on these products. The consumers’ satisfaction is always satisfied once they buy this product, but a small thought that appears in their head is that they wasted money on something they truly didn’t desire. You can find their products on Amazon, Hottopic, and Box lunch. However, they are frequently put onto sales for this product. This means there is a big issue in balancing their supply and demand. They are producing more waste in the fast fashion industry than other small anime cartoons merchandise. Nobody is wanting the merchandise they are putting up, causing them to go to waste once they are done. Bananya is adding an extra level of harm to the environment due to them not being able to do the sales they were expecting. Bananya doesn’t give the crucial learning developments a young kid needs and they are producing waste in the environment with the merchandise they are providing.
