[ #1 ] Dragged Out Underneath The Lights by Orchid Mantis

Genre: Indie/Bedroom Pop

Description: There isn’t much to say about this song, it’s a very relaxing and chill song. The song itself is gorgeous and the instrumental tells a story more so than the lyrics.

[ #2 ] Warned Her by Lutalo

Genre: Indie Pop

Description: “Warned her” by Lutalo is about the healthy obsession this girl has with her partner but the “you” in the song is about the partner she is obsessed with and he doesn’t feel the same way, the lyrics “You grab her waist you fall back in

She asks you if you’ll stay for good

You know you think you never could

Tonight you make her think you would.” determine the summary.

[ #3 ] When the Sun Hits by Slowdive

Genre: Shoegaze

Description: This is honestly just a song to sit back and enjoy, one of my favorite songs of all time. It isn’t very lyrically driven nor is it instrumentally, it is a perfect balance of both and I think that’s why it’s as popular as it is.

[ #4 ] In a Dream by Skybox

Genre: Electronic

Description: This is a new song I found earlier this year and I absolutely love it. The instruments they chose to add are very unique and clash extremely well with one another in such a surprising way. Closing your eyes while listening to this song will make you feel like you’re in space.

[ #5 ] Agoraphobia by Deerhunter

Genre: Alternative/Indie

Description: As you may have guessed from the title this song is about Agoraphobia (Fear of places or situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment.) the lyrics in this song are fantastic and the production is even better. This is another one you may enjoy if you like Slowdive (with a more alternative twist)

[ #6 ] Scarecrow by No Fun Haus

Genre: Alternative/Indie

Description: A very feel-good and happy song, though the lyrics may differ from the sound it is a sweet song. The song is about a lonely scarecrow that scares everyone off when in reality he just wants a friend.

[ #7 ] i heard you were looking like the moon by Richard Orofino

Genre: Pop

Description: My interpretation of this song is not confirmed but I believe this song is about a toxic perhaps even abusive relationship. The lyrics “I heard you were looking like the moon

Flashing but your dark parts on the other side of you

So sad, I can’t see you” he is referring to his partner and how he wishes he could see the true them again.

[ #8 ] Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires by Cocteau Twins

Genre: Indie Pop/Shoegaze

Description: This is one of those songs that make you feel like you’re living in a fantasy world. The production adding wind blows, twinkle sounds, and the high-pitched voice of the lead singer mix so well in this song. If you enjoy Slowdive, you will enjoy this song.

[ #9 ] Beautiful People by Malice K

Genre: Alternative/Indie

Description: A song I found this month, it’s about pretty people using others to get what they want which I’m sure a lot of people can relate to on a personal level. The lyrics in this song are so beautifully written and it is genuinely a great song.

[ #10 ] A Fond Farewell by Elliott Smith

Genre: Rock

Description: A Fond Farewell is a classic, and knowing the melancholy end to Elliott Smith’s life makes this song so much more meaningful than the rest of his discography. The song is about changing your life for the better and moving on from the darker moments. This applied to Elliott’s life a great deal due to his struggle with drugs and addiction in the past.
